Ramadhan, UNM Gelar Ceramah dan Diskusi Religi bersama A.G.H. Sanusi Baco

Selama bulan suci ramadhan, Universitas Negeri Makassar menggelar ceramah dan diskusi religi dengan mendatangkan penceramah yang berbobot nasional. Kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan senin-kamis selama bulan suci ramadhan. Kamis, 12 Agustus 2010 A.G.H. Sanusi Baco yang juga selaku Ketua Majelis Ulama (MUI) Sul-Sel berdakwah di hadapan jemaah-jemaah dengan tema khusus yang masih dalam nuansa ramadhan. Pada kesempatan itu juga, Rektor UNM (Prof. Dr. Arismunandar, M.Pd),  Pembantu Rektor 1, Pembantu Rektor II, Pembantu Rektor III, Pembantu Rektor IV, juga staff pegawai UNM mengikuti dakwah yang dilaksanakan usai shalat dhuhur di Mushallah Rektorat Unm.

Mahasiswa Baru UNM Kuliah Perdana 20 September

Setelah mengikuti prosesi Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru di Celebes Convention Center, pada (7/08) lalu. Sebanyak 4.779 mahasiswa baru Universitas Negeri Makassar akan mengikuti kuliah perdana pada 20 September mendatang. Kuliah perdana bertempat di masing-masing fakultas, dengan agenda yang telah disusun setiap fakultas. Jadwal kuliah perdana mahasiswa baru UNM Tahun Akademik 2010-2011, disampaikan oleh Pembantu Rektor I UNM, Prof. Sofyan Salam, M. A., Ph. D., pada prosesi penerimaan mahasiswa baru. Pada kesempatan itu, mahasiswa baru UNM menerima pengarahan yang disampaikan oleh Pembantu Rektor I, Pembantu Rektor II, Pembantu Rektor III, dan Pembantu Rektor IV.

UNM Resmi Menerima 4.779 Mahasiswa Baru

Universitas Negeri Makassar resmi menerima mahasiswa baru Tahun Akademik 2010/2011 melalui prosesi Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru dalam Rapat Senat Terbuka Luar Biasa yang dipimpin oleh Rektor Universitas Negeri Makassar, Prof. Dr. H. Arismunandar, M. Pd.,. Rapat Senat Terbuka Luar Biasa UNM dalam rangka Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru Tahun Akademik 2010/2011 dihadiri oleh Sekretaris dan Anggota Senat Universitas, Ketua dan Sekretaris Senat Guru Besar, Pembantu Rektor, Dekan, Ketua Lembaga, dan Direktur PPs, Kepala Biro, Pembantu Dekan, Sekretaris Lembaga, Asisten Direktur serta segenap Pimpinan Unit, dan Pimpinan Lembaga Kemahasiswaan.

Survival Indonesian 

2 weeks (20 hrs of class)

Crash course in Indonesian to give visitors the basics in spoken language so that they can interact with street vendors, taxi drivers and individuals they meet. A great start for those wanting to communicate with locals as they travel around Sulawesi or other parts of Indonesia.

Details: 2 hours of class time per day, with approximately 2 hours out of class work to do in preparation for the following day.

Survival Indonesian and Cultural Exposure 

2 weeks (20 hrs of class, 20 hrs excursions)

Crash course in Indonesian to give visitors the essentials in being able to speak basic Indonesian to street vendors, individuals and around tourist sites.

Details: Details: 2 hours of class time per day, with approximately 2 hours out of class work to do in preparation for the following day. Class time is followed by excursions (accompanied by your tutor or Language Center staff) to interesting cultural and tourist sites around the city of Makassar where learners have a chance to put their language into practise!

Introduction to Indonesian language and society

4 weeks (40 hrs class, 20 hrs excursions) 

Introductory course to give learners the overall framework in the Indonesian language. This course is particularly suited to those who may be interested in extended travel in Indonesia, or coming to do volunteer work in the country for a short-medium length of time.


Details: 2 hours of class time per day, with approximately 2 hours out of class work to do in preparation for the following day. Each week also has a couple of excursions (accompanied by your tutor or staff of The Language Center) to interesting cultural and trade sites where learners have a chance to put their new language into practise!

Indonesian for Expats

The Language Center will custom design a program for expat adults, teenagers or children living in the city who want to commence their study of Indonesian, or develop their current level of Indonesian proficiency. Classes can be run at the Language Center or in peoples’ office or home. Frequency and length of tutorials is negotiable.

Intensive Indonesian

The Language Center offers an intensive program that if completed takes almost nine months of continuous study to complete. For entrance into any unit other than Unit 1, an entrance test is necessary. The method we use requires students to study for at least the same time per day out of class as they study in class.

Units 1 – 3:  Beginners  - 12 weeks (120 hrs of class)

Each unit last 4 weeks (5 days per week, 2 hours classroom study per day). Materials comprise a series of dialogues and short readings. Each week includes an excursion that relates to the topic being studied, and a variety of ‘street tasks’ that encourage learners to interact with locals.

Each unit last 4 weeks (5 days per week, 2 hours classroom study per day). These units will include short field trips and placements in which language learners have the opportunity to use and hear language in a variety of real life contexts.

Units 7 – 8:  Advanced  - 8 weeks (64 hrs of class)

Units 7 and 8 take 4 weeks each (4 days per week, 2 hours classroom study per day). This is a tailored course that utilises various media to ensure maximum vocabularly and fluency development when conversing on a wide range of complex topics. Contact the Language Centre for details regarding methodology and format.

Unit 9: Field Placement - 4 weeks

Unit 9 is an extended field placement to an area of your choice to undertake a short research project. Week 1 is research and preparation. Weeks 2-3 are conducting the research. Week 4 is write-up and presentation.

Indonesian for large groups

While the Language Center specialises in small group instruction, we are also able to custom-make a package for larger groups (for example, a group of university students) that are wanting to study Indonesian for a certain period of time (e.g. 4 weeks, 6 weeks).
