Related to intellectual property, Kemenkumham Sulsel Gandeng UNM

Rector of Makassar State University (UNM) Prof. Husain Sham together with the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Of South Sulawesi, Harun Sulianto signed a cooperation agreement related to the Development, Strengthening and Protection of Intellectual Property.

The event was witnessed by Director of Copyright and Industrial Design Dr. Sarifudin took place at Hotel Gammara Makassar, Tuesday (04/20/2021).

This activity is coupled with The Workshop and Dissemination of Communal Intellectual Property (KIK) and the submission of KIK recording letters to Sinjai Regency and Pangkajene Regency.

Kakanwil Harun said that currently Kanwil Kemenkumham Sulsel has cooperated in the Field of Intellectual Property with 11 Regency / City Governments in South Sulawesi namely East Luwu, Pangkep, Takalar, Enrekang, Pinrang, North Luwu, Sidrap, Wajo, Palopo, Sinjai, and Bone.

In addition, it has also signed a joint agreement with 8 universities, namely, Hasanuddin University, Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar, Muslim University of Indonesia, Pangkep Agricultural Polytechnic, Eastern Indonesian University, Fajar University, Sawerigading University, and Pelamonia Kesdam XIV /Hasanuddin Institute of Health Sciences.

Rector of UNM Prof. Husain Sham expressed his appreciation to kemenkumham Sulsel who had invited UNM to cooperate in the Field of Intellectual Property.

"The campus is part of intellectual recording that strengthens intellectuals through study and research. For that, it must get legal protection so as not to be easily recognized by other people or groups," said Husain Sham.

"Through this Cooperation, Husain hopes to further strengthen synergy and benefit both institutions," said the Rector of UNM.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from intellectual property of the ministry of finance of the south sulawesi amounting to Rp 1.8 billion increased from 2019 which only amounted to Rp 1.1 billion.

"The signing of this Cooperation Agreement is an effort to provide the best service to intellectual property applicants, as well as to raise PNBP," Harun said.

Director General of Intellectual Property represented by Director of Copyright and Industrial Design Dr. Syarifuddin appreciated the steps of the Kemenkumham Sulsel Kanwil who had tried as much as possible so that the implementation of intellectual property recording and registration could be carried out properly.
