UNM Inaugural College Degree
Makassar State University (UNM) held the Opening of the Inaugural Lecture of the even semester 2020/2021 called The Lecture Command, which was conducted virtually, Wednesday (10/2/2021)
The event was attended, the Rector of UNM, Prof. Husain Sham, the Vice Rectors, deans in the UNM environment, the Director of Graduate Programs, the chairmen and secretaries of the institution, the vice deans and assistant directors of the Graduate Program, the heads of departments, the heads of study programs, education personnel, and students.
Vice Rector for academic affairs, Prof. Hasnawi Haris ensures that academic and non-academic processes run according to existing standards and affirms at even meters UNM uses a single Learning Management System (LMS) namely System and Application Management Open Knowledge or (SYAM – OK) to be the single application used in the academic process at UNM.
Meanwhile, in his direction the Rector of UNM Prof. Husain Sham confirmed that the first lecture of the ganap semester began today, Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
He said that during the covid pandemic, UNM carried out the academic process online using a single SYAM-OK application that has been equipped with all the needs of the teaching and learning process.
"SYAM-OK is our keyword in online learning, combining synchronous and asynchronous methods, asynchronous students are expected to learn independently. In this application there are already available student materials that can be accessed for free in supporting the lecture process, "he said.
He also explained that all teaching materials are designed online, for practicum activities can be done by making animations, or face-to-face, but with standards and in accordance with applicable health protocols.
"Especially for practical courses, which are actually transfer of skills, we can create animation, or we can meet directly but must be with health protocols, we limit the number of people present each meeting," he added.
He hopes that the SYAM-OK Application is really used properly so that it does not burden students in the lecture process.
"SYAM-OK combines singkron and asynchronous. I want sham okay really become an application system that can conet all activities at UNM. Do not try to present the application and then burden the students, "he explained.
Regarding academic activities, proposal seminars, exam results and closes, Prof. Husain asserted that it was implemented online and offline, depending on the policies of the leadership of each faculty, by putting forward health protocols.
