Unm Rector Confirms 9581 New Students at PKKMB 2021

Makassar State University (UNM) held an Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) in the Pinisi Tower Theater room, titled: Generation of UNM Catalysts in the MBKM Era, Thursday, 12/08/2021.

PKKMB 2021 activities conducted in Blended, which combines offline and online are attended by the Rector of UNM, the Chairman of the Senate, the Vice Rectors, the Deans and Directors of PPS, the Chairmen of institutions, the Bureau Chiefs, Ms. Darma Perempuan, head of UPP Parepare and Bone Campus, and attended by 9581 new students.

Prof. Dr.. Sukardi Veda, S.S., M.Hum, who is also Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of UNM reported that the purpose of PKKMB is to help new students to be able to adapt to the campus environment, both in the academic and non-academic fields, as well as to develop the potential of new students so that they can innovate, character, work and be able to compete with other universities without abandoning the noble values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution and local wisdom.
In his report, Sukardi Weda stated that my children are lucky to be UNM students because UNM is a PT that has Superior A accreditation and with the support of infrastructure and superstructure that is very adequate to make my children as candidates for the future leader of this nation. You are the agent of change of this nation. The power of change is YOU. Before ending his report, Sukardi Veda invites new students to make the best use of their time to fill the intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, and spiritual intelligence of my children.

Rector of UNM, Prof. Dr.. Ir. H. Husain Sham, M.TP., IPU., ASEAN Eng. He began his remarks by introducing UNM officials and in his speech said that UNM is the most passed PT in the MBKM 2021 program. I want to make UNM students as catalyst students, making the impossible possible, he said.
Prof. Dr.. Ir. Husain Sham added that we want UNM to be the same as universities in America, Europe, and others, in various ways, especially in accessing information and technology wherever you are, because UNM already has its infrastructure.
Be a talented student to make the name of UNM, he said.
The goal of PKKMB is to be a direction for new students to adapt to the campus environment. Before ending his speech, Prof. Dr.. Ir. Husayn Sham gave appreciation in the form of gifts to new students who have achievements in the field of interest and talent, including memorization / memorization of the Qur'an, both at the national and international levels. Prof. Dr.. Ir. Husain Sham also promised to give gifts to UNM's outstanding new students who participated in THE PKKMB virtually, by bringing evidence of the race that followed.

Dr.. Abdul Kahar, M.Pd., who is also the Head of the Education Reporting and Financing Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in his lecture generally conveyed the philosophy of the birth of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), in response to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. People who are students of UNM, are creative people, therefore let's take advantage of this opportunity, he concluded. If you choose UNM, you will be a creative person. You are the future leader of this nation, he said. Students must acquire off-campus knowledge to adapt to the environment and global change. Prepare my children for global challenges, she said.
